Here’s my prediction: Autodesk will take the easiest path to start utilizing Multi-Core and introduce it in Inventor by devoting up to 1 processor PER VIEW. Anyone know if Autodesk plan to have a future releases of inventor fully multithreaded enabled? I sure hope so.. I’m currently running Inventor

Inventor Multithreading on the way? Back to Inventor Category. Back to Topic Listing Previous Next. Message 1 of Anyone know if Autodesk plan to have a future releases of inventor fully multithreaded enabled? I sure hope so.. I’m currently running Inventor an Intel i7 3Ghz cpu overlooked to 3. I find inventor to be painfully slow on actions a simple as switching between.

I’m using all of the features that are supposed to make inventor run faster like level of details view reps and derived assemblies were ever possible. Message 2 of But my mommy always said I was a dreamer. If so please use the Accept Solution button below.

Maybe buy me a beer through Venmo mcgyvr Message 3 of Message 4 of And if they could just work on making existin gfeatures work the way they’re supposed to instead of adding new ones that don’t fully cooperate until 3 versions later, I then might buy some stock. Message 5 of And quit messing around with the interface. Message 6 of The added memory overhead used by that crappy ribbon practically requires multithreading.

I can’t even use it because I need to restart Inventor every 10 minutes because its so buggy. Message 7 of Speed is always good, but I will go out on an edge and say more Inventor users use sheetmetal everyday than 10, part assemblies Message 8 of Message 9 of Autodesk typically are not innovators of technology, in much the same way Microsoft do business the entire Autodesk business model seems to be built upon the acquisition of technology and companies that are.

A pretty GUI and eye candy as we have seen in the latest release are very nice but frankly gives little productivity to the end user, currently going thru the process of trying the implement this product called inventor as a serious cad system into our company of 12 drafters has and will continue to hold some major hurdles, the biggest being the slow and frustrating speed in which inventor performs every day simple tasks.

Not to mention the steep learning curb required to become a proficient user. Autodesk should take a short term pain hit in order to create a long term gain. Message 10 of It’s dispiriting to read threads like this. Myself and colleagues spend the vast proportion of our working day staring at an hourglass, or trying unsatisfactorily, as I am doing right now, to check a dwg into the Vault, cos it is “to big”.

This file, which is a reasonable modest assembly of conveyor mechanical parts, is a 4 sheet drawing, one sheet of which is entirely BOM. In Inventor the dwg is around 29 Mb. And it doesn’t want to go into the Vault. Ah, says an Inventor-experienced colleague, you’ve got too many vieews on that sheet. I can’t believe I’m hearing this! I’m now faced with spending the rest of the day trying to delete views from the drawing and cover the information therein by notes!

Or something. Worst of it is, I’d been led to beleive that these probs were because we are running IV To hear that things haven’t significantly improved in later releases is a blow indeed. Edited by: moto on Jun 19, AM. Message 11 of I’m sure that every CAD vendor is actively exploring the possibility of multithreading their applications, but none are announcing anything.

Since you are implementing IV, have you purchased training for those 12 users or is it a do it yourself project? App Engr. Message 12 of Speed is all about having the right hardware, software versions 64 bit and work practices to fit your needs.

Message 13 of If Inventor struggles to do something that AutoCAD takes in its stride, something is seriously wrong. Companies have CAD procedures. Are you really saying that they should re-write their rulebooks to suit IV? I’ll bet that’s not what the vendors say when they’re selling IV to companies! And I can’t imagine how you would set about appending multiple dwg files to a iam in Inventor.

Could you clarify? Message 14 of We are an Australian based company that deals with many large international engineering companies , to name a few Toyota, Bechtel, Exxon, BHP, Woodside Petroleum, as such we have a huge obligation to conform the many different engineering and drafting standards of these companies. Message 15 of Not getting into an argument here.

You are dealing with parametrics her, with corresponding larger file sizes. The current economy is weeding out companies who refuse to change and therefore cannot compete. Message 16 of Reseller training for the most part just follows the text. That’s not training IMHO. Message 17 of Please expand on “Inventor is too slow” Message 18 of Let’s have an extensive talk on your issues.

Please also provide your phone number in the email. Message 19 of Dennis it almost sounds like your against multithreading I know your not though. Everyone even simply assemblies,etc.. If I have to wait for 2 seconds for the program to catch up thats me waiting and not being as productive as I could be.

I think if you took a survey there would not be a single person that says Inventor is fast enough. Multithreading is the way to go and hopefully happens sooner than later. I really think there is very little additional functionality that Inventor needs. I would rank the ability to support multiple processors as 1 for sure. Hopefully Autodesk sees the same needs. Message 20 of Please document all the other feature based CAD programs that have multi-threading capabilities, and you will find most of them if any are pretty limited in their use of multi-threading.

Certain tasks do lend themselves well to parallel computing, others do not. Post Reply. Can’t find what you’re looking for? Ask the community or share your knowledge.

Is it possible to optimize the use of multicore processors? Thank you. Have you seen the parameter number of cores? I have 8 and in-cad seems to be using them most of the time. This says implemented but I’d have to say, not very well. It usually only uses 2 cores at best. Please, multi-core processors are not перейти на источник autodesk inventor 2018 multithreading free thing.
